Here are your football.london Chelsea headlines on Friday, August 19.
Cristiano Ronaldo forced to move on from Chelsea prospect
The main attraction for CR7 to Chelsea was the prospect of continuing his love affair with the Champions League. However, manager Thomas Tuchel decided to opt for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang instead and the Portuguese has been on the back burner with the view of being re-visited if the former Arsenal striker were to reject an early move back to London.
But with that looking increasingly unlikely, the 37-year-old is needing to find new options if he were to secure a Man United exit. And it seems a new club has stepped forward in the form of Borussia Dortmund.
This is according to CBS Sports' Ben Jacobs who tweeted: 'Borussia Dortmund is Cristiano Ronaldo’s last hope of Man United exit this summer with Jorge Mendes still pushing for an offer. A move to Sporting was never on. No appetite at Ronaldo’s end despite Champions League football and pushback from Ruben Amorim. Atleti option 100% off the table'

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bid submitted and deal now 'close'
Chelsea are very confident Barcelona will accept their £22million offer for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, football.london understands. The Blues are still trying to sign a striker before next month's deadline and it looks as if they may have taken a big step forward.
Thomas Tuchel is determined to bring the 33-year-old back to the Premier League after he left Arsenal on controversial terms back in January. Aubameyang was stripped of the captain's armband at the Emirates Stadium after multiple disciplinary issues and his contract at the Gunners was then terminated, leaving him free to move to Barcelona.
His time at the Nou Camp has seen him score 11 La Liga goals in 18 appearances, but despite the impressive record, he could be sold before the window closes. While Chelsea are confident they can reach a deal with Barcelona, personal terms still need to be discussed.

Graeme Souness doesn't rate the prospect of Anthony Gordon joining Chelsea for £50m
Well-known TV pundit Graeme Souness believes £50million for Anthony Gordon is a huge 'gamble' as Chelsea and Everton remain locked in transfer negotiations.
football.london understands that the Blues have had bids in the region of £40m and £45m rejected outright by Everton as they hold out for closer to £50m. With Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech likely to join both Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku out of the exit doors this summer, the west Londoners are looking for cover on the wings.
"I think the young man is promising, but to spend £40m on someone who might not be a player is a gamble. I think Chelsea's needs are in another area. Chelsea need a goalscorer to put them away for fun."
