Cristiano Ronaldo 'denied Serie A return' and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been denied the chance to leave Old Trafford after his wage demands scuppered a return to Serie A.

Corriere dello Sport claim that the star's agent, Jorge Mendes, has offered both Milan clubs the opportunity to sign the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. Both clubs are playing in the Champions League this season, something Ronaldo is desperate to do after United could only qualify for this season's Europa League.

It is reported that contact was made at the end of June, with both clubs rejecting the chance to sign the star due to his wage demands.

Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have all been linked with Ronaldo this summer, while Sporting Lisbon have also been touted as potential suitors.

Meanwhile, United are rumoured to be in the hunt for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. The Mirror report that he is being chased by a number of clubs including Arsenal and West Ham.

Brighton signed Caicedo for £4.5 million last year. He impressed during last weekend's win at Old Trafford and United are now said to be keen to bring him to the club.
