Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence on the controversial TV interview he recently conducted with Piers Morgan. The 37-year-old has claimed that he does not care what people think of him in the wake of the controversial comments he made about Manchester United.
He now faces an increasingly uncertain future at Old Trafford as his relationship with head coach Erik ten Hag - and the Red Devils fanbase - appears untenable. United were said to be 'furious' after being caught by surprise over Ronaldo's TV interview, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner claiming that he felt betrayed by the club.
As a result, the Mirror report that the club have been seeking legal advice and the Portugal international could be sacked if his behaviour is judged to be 'a serious enough breach of discipline'. Ronaldo could even be offloaded before the January transfer window opens, leaving the door wide open for Todd Boehly and Chelsea to swoop back in for him.

Despite the media circus ignited by the Portuguese star, he's insistent that the speculation regarding his future won't bother him ore his Portugal teammates. Ronaldo claimed that there's two sides to every story and he's confident that the tide will soon turn in his favour.
Speaking to the press on Monday, ahead of Portugal's World Cup opener against Ghana, he said: "Timing is always timing. From your side it is easy to look at how we can chose timings.
"Sometimes you write truths, sometimes you write lies. I don’t have to worry what other think. I talk when I want to. Everybody knows who I am, what I believe in."
It's said that 'high-level discussions' have taken place between CEO Richard Arnold, director of football John Murtough and Ten Hag as United 'reject' Ronaldo’s criticisms of the club and are in full support of the head coach. With the veteran striker seemingly on the brink of becoming a free agent, the Mirror outline that Chelsea are back in contention to sign him as Todd Boehly looks to boost the club's goal-scoring woes.
If the Red Devils do decide to sack Ronaldo, the club will have no say in which club he decides to join next. The striker sees his deal at Old Trafford expire at the end of the season too, leaving United in limbo.
Ronaldo will be free to begin pre-contract talks with clubs outside of the Premier League in January in order to secure a free transfer in the summer. As it stands, United could either sack him before January, recuperate a small fee in January and surrender his services for the remainder of the campaign, or let him leave on a free at the end of the season.
With an exit on the cards, it's said that talks with Chelsea are set to take place soon. According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes will offer his client to the Blues, but a move 'remains complicated'...
