Manchester United duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho have both admitted that they are looking forward to working with incoming manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman, who was United's preferred candidate to succeed Ralf Rangnick at the end of this season, is stepping up planning for United next season. He took charge of Ajax for the final time on Sunday, watching them secure a late point in a 2-2 draw with Vitesse Arnhem.
It marked the end of a successful and emotional journey for Ten Hag. Appointed as manager in December 2017, the 52-year-old guided the club to six trophies during his time in charge, including three Eredivisie league titles, and the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2019.

His success at the Johan Cruyff Arena was built on playing attractive football and ensuring that everyone within the club sung from the same hymn sheet, with Ten Hag a big believer of following a strict philosophy. The job awaiting him at Old Trafford, however, promises to be the biggest and most testing of his career to date.
United are in desperate need of big changes being made this summer, both on and off the pitch, meaning Ten Hag will be expected to roll up his sleeves and make an impact from his first day in charge. Patience, however, will be required.
And that is something that United striker Ronaldo has already admitted. He has signified the importance of the Dutchman being allowed time to install his ideas, but, at the same time, has admitted that he is relishing working with him.
Ronaldo told ManUtd.com: "I know that he has done a fantastic job at Ajax, and that he is an experienced coach. But we have to give him time.
“Things must change the way he wants. If he does well, all of Manchester United will be successful, so I wish him well.
"We are all happy and excited, not only as players, but as fans as well. We have to believe that next year we can win titles."
Fellow United star Sancho, who has struggled to live up to expectations in his debut season in England, has mirrored his colleague's comments, admitting that he is also very much looking forward to playing under Ten Hag's stewardship. Furthermore, he has outlined his hopes of kicking-on and improving under the former FC Utrecht chief.
"To start again fresh, with a new manager coming in, we're looking forward to seeing what his ideas and plans for the team are," said the England winger to club media. "You only have to think positively.
"My career is only getting started and, hopefully, it will take off soon. This has been a difficult season, especially being a Manchester United player, with what the club has achieved over the years.
"United is known for winning trophies and being up there with the best. This season has been a difficult one for all of us, but I think we still have to show belief again."
