Cristian Romero has hailed Richarlison’s impact on Tottenham since his summer arrival from Everton.
The Brazilian joined Spurs for a fee of £60million and initially struggled to force his way into Antonio Conte’s first-team plans, with the trusted trio of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski providing a formidable trio.
However, after some bright cameos off the bench, Richarlison impressed on his first start against Fulham and then scored twice to give Tottenham a crucial win over Marseille on his European debut.
It has meant both Kulusevski and Son have had spells on the bench in recent games, with Spurs now having the kind of strength in depth up front that they have not previously had.
Richarlison has quickly established himself as a popular figure among the Tottenham fans, even if he has wound up others with some of his showboating antics.
Romero believes the 25-year-old is already a crucial member of the squad, his energy and enthusiasm rubbing off on his new team-mates.
“He has brought a lot to the team,” Romero told Sky Sports.
“He is a player who is a little bit different to the ones we already had. He is a player who puts in absolutely everything, all the time.
“We have Harry Kane, who, for me, is a maximum talent and one of the best strikers in the world. We also have [Heung-Min] Son and [Dejan] Kulusevski, who also make the difference.
“But Richy is giving us different things and that’s something which I think is infectious.”
