Crisp fans go wild as popular discontinued 00s flavour set to make a comeback

Crisp fanatics have been sent absolutely wild over the return of a popular flavour of crisps that has been impossible to find since it was discontinued 14 years ago.

90s kids will know just how popular a packet of Nik Nak crisps are, with one flavour that bit more iconic than the rest - the Scamp 'n' Lemon flavour.

The unique flavour was extremely popular with kids back in the day and the bizarre concoction even came with an ironic "Stifle The Stink" statement encouraging consumers to bin the packaging responsibly. Sadly, fans have been unable to get their hands on them as individual packs since they were pulled from shelves in 2008 to make way for the pickled onion flavour.

But now it looks like shoppers can relive their youth, as the funky flavour is set to make its grand return to small retailers across the country starting from this week.

The news was announced on the popular food Facebook page Snack News and Reviews, reports Edinburgh Live. in a post that read: "Nik Naks Scampi & Lemon are coming back THIS WEEK in convenience stores! Keep your peeled!

"Thanks treatsinstore for the news."

The legendary flavour's return was met with thunderous applause from foodies with many commenting that it was their "favourite" flavour of crisps.

"This is my favourite flavour niknaks", raved one shopper.

"Best crisps ever!", said a second enthusiastic shopper.

"Yes! These were the best one!", praised a third.

"Used to love these back in the day. Bloody gorgeous!!", commented a fourth.

"Love love LOVE these", wrote a fifth.

A fifth shopper tagged their friend and exclaimed: "My absolute faves help me find some."

Crisp fans are being urged to check smaller convenience stores for the legendary Scampi 'n' Lemon flavour Nik Naks.
