Cris Cyborg's boxing debut is in doubt with the former UFC star set to take part part in her first professional bout next week.
The Brazilian is set to take on Simone Silva at the Fight Music Show 2 in Curtiba Brazil but Cryborg's opponent was issued with a 60-day medical suspension after suffering a knock out loss on August 13.
The suspension means she still has 17 days of her suspension to serve and the Brazilian boxing booard OBBoxe have told MMA Fighting they are not overseeing the bout because of the suspension.
Cyborg has been touted as a possible opponent for Katie Taylor and not making her official professional debut could put the fight in doubt.
Taylor will return to the ring on October 29 with the Bray boxer set to fight Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in Wembley Arena with Taylor headlining the show.
And although there is still a possible rematch with Amanda Serrano mooted for Croke Park, a big money fight with Cyborg could be a big money fight.
But Cyborg not officially getting her professional career underway would set the timeline back for any bout.
