'Cringing' Coronation Street fans call out 'silly' Daisy as they point out blunder after verdict cheers

Coronation Street fans have said they were 'cringing' as they called out 'silly' Daisy Midgeley for her mistake. The barmaid, played by Charlotte Jordan, has faced her stalker in court as Justin Rutherford finally faced his fate for the horrific acid attack.

Last week, there was drama in the ITV soap when Justin's sister Karen made an appearance as she tried to glean information that could help Justin get off with his terrifying crime that left Ryan with life-changing injuries after his intended target was Daisy on her wedding day.

Ryan and Carla Connor were appalled to see Justin’s sister in the Rovers and a row ensued. Throwing insults, Ryan reminded Daisy of how she went out of her way to split him up from his ex Alya Nazir. Karen admitted that she had passed on what she gleaned about Daisy’s history of manipulation to Justin’s lawyer, leaving Ryan, initially too distraught to face the court.

He later came through and stood in the witness box after Daisy and her fiance Daniel Osbourne also gave their version of events. But Daisy and Ryan both still feared that Justin could get away with it after his lawyer picked them both apart and accused them of being in love and setting up Justin.

However, during scenes aired on Monday night (June 5), the jury appeared to see through Justin's lies, after he claimed he was the victim and that Ryan tried to attack him with the acid, realised Justin's lies, and found him guilty. As the guilty verdict came in, Justin looked stunned as Ryan, Daisy and the others cheered with relief.

Justin was led away by officers and told he would be sentenced at a later date, while it's not known if Justin will feature in any more scenes. Ryan then headed home with his aunt Carla. While he didn't want to face many people, he did want to speak to former love interest Crystal as he remains in the dark about the true identity of the person he's been messaging for weeks.

Bar promoter Crystal had flirted with Ryan and offered him a gig in Ibiza before the acid attack, but afterwards, she cruelly ditched him. He, however, is unaware as Daisy kept the information from him and his instead been pretending to be Crystal in their multiple text exchanges.

After Daisy stopped messaging Ryan as Crystal, he was left concerned and feared something was wrong - only to make a worrying discovery. He revealed to Carla that a message online confirmed Crystal was in a coma after an accident. But as he rushed to gather more information, he began receiving new messages from 'Crystal' and he devastatingly realised he was being catfished.

But Corrie fans were quick to flock to social media and point out Daisy's error despite her own 'influencer' status and presence online. @corriepodcast tweeted:" CRYSTAL COMA CATFISH CRINGE KLAXON!! #corrie." @daisysmidgeley said: "Daisy you silly cow why wouldn’t you be checking crystal’s socials to see where she is and what she’s doing." @VampLover27 shared: "Rookie error not actually checking the girls social media before posing as her #Corrie."

@scrapiejane posted: "You'd think Daisy, being all about social media, might have checked what Crystal was up to first!! #corrie." @kellymew_ fumed: "Daisy is the s*****st catfish ever, you’d at least check the persons profile you are trying to be #corrie." @DavidMackayy added: "Daisy you fool, you’ve exposed yourself as a catfish #corrie."
