Creepy man approaching schoolchildren and asking them 'do you want to come with me?'

Schoolchildren have been eerily approached by a stranger who has chillingly asked them: "Do you want to come with me?".

The incident occurred on two separate last week occasions in the Coundon area of Coventry, reports Coventry Live.

It has been reported that both the incidents happened before the school morning around Southbank Road on June 14, and again on June 21.

The schoolboys were on both occasions approached by a man who creepily asked them to follow him.

Police say they are working with the school and making enquiries. Coundon Primary School has been approached for a comment.

Speaking about the occurence, Coventry Police Inspector Jerome Moran said: “We’re investigating two reports of suspicious activity in Southbank Road, Coundon, in which school children have been approached.

"We believe on both occasions boys have been approached by a man – believed to be in his 30s or 40s – who’s said words to the effect of ‘do you want to come with me?’.

“There was no physical contact and the children were not hurt. The first incident happened on June 14 at 8.50am, the second on June 21 at 8.30am. We are looking into whether the incidents are linked and are working with the school involved.

"We’ve had officers patrolling in the area before and after school and carrying out other enquiries and investigative opportunities. If anyone has seen anyone acting suspiciously, or is a parent of a child who’s also been approached, then please get in touch.

"People can call us on 101 of message on Live Chat via our website; please quote crime reference 20/552819/22."

Coundon Primary School have passed Coventry Live's enquiry to Coventry City Council, who said they would not be commenting as the matter had been referred to the police.
