'Crazy' price for two sandwiches and two beers at Dublin Airport has Irish people declaring 'rip-off Ireland' is back

A Dublin diner was stunned after receiving a bill for €27 after buying two sandwiches and two pint of beers at Dublin Airport.

The diner ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a club sandwich as well as one Heineken pint and a pint of Orchard Thieves for a combined price of €27.95 from a restaurant in Dublin Airport.

Taking to social media, Jeff Call wrote: "This is what Dublin charged me on Saturday 27 euro!"

One social media user replied: "What a rip off, the little boom is definitely back."

A second person wrote: "Crazy prices. That's rip off ireland for you."

Another wrote: "That's outrageous for just two pints and sandwiches."

There was also recent outrage over the price of a Centra breakfast roll which cost €7.

Daragh Small tweeted the monstrous effort, which contained three sausages, two eggs, one hash brown, and one slice apiece of black and white pudding.

It quickly went viral, with over 3,000 likes and nearly 400 replies, the majority shocked with the sheer size of the item.

Radio DJ Declan Pierce laughed: "It’s only €3.50 … the rest was a tip for the absolute HERO that fit 8 items in!!!! FFS man"

He wasn't the only one impressed with the effort of the deli worker, with another person tweeted: "Eight items?! Sure, if you going to have a breakfast roll that comprehensive you'd be as well getting a plate."

Another person, taking to Reddit, wrote: "8 items !!! Does he think he is Celine Dion ?"

A lot of others made the obvious link, writing: "Pat Shortt is fuming!"

Shortt famously topped the chart in the mid-2000s singing about a Jumbo Breakfast Roll.
