Crash closes Sylvan Way in Sea Mills as man taken to hospital

A key road in north Bristol is blocked following a crash this afternoon (Wednesday, March 23).

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix the A4162 Sylvan Way is currently blocked in both directions. The crash is reported to have taken place between Westbury Lane and Hallen Drive in the Sea Mills area of the city.

The road, which leads off of the Portway, was first blocked at 12.45pm. Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement that a vehicle crashed into a parked car and that one person was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A spokesperson said shortly before 2pm: "Emergency services are at the scene of a collision which has closed Sylvan Way, Sea Mills, Bristol.

"It was reported just before 12.25pm today, Wednesday 23 March, that a car had been in collision with a parked vehicle. A man has gone to hospital by ambulance.

"Sylvan Way is closed between its junctions with Woodleaze and Shirehampton Road while police examine the scene and pending recovery of the vehicles.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage which could help the investigation is asked to call 101 and give the reference 5222029133."
