Craig Revel Horwood admits he will miss exiting Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli

Strictly Come Dancing 's Craig Revel Horwood has admitted he will miss fellow judge Bruno Tonioli who is departing the hit BBC show after 18 years.

Bruno has been a part of Strictly along with Horwood since its 2004 inception, but has decided to call it a day in order to focus on his commitments to the US version of the show, Dancing With The Stars.

Speaking to MailOnline, Craig, 57, said although he will be sad to he his old pal leave, the pair will still spend a significant amount of time together.

"I am gonna miss him, but then I do get to spend quite a few months with him travelling around the country in a Mini so I get my yearly fill which is quite good," he said.

The pair will still be working together this summer, however, on ITV's Craig and Bruno's Great British Road Trips (ITV)

The pair are to feature in the second series of their own show this summer - ITV 's Craig and Bruno's Great British Road Trips.

Last year saw the pair hit the road in their Mini, taking in Cornwall, the Yorkshire Dales, Wales, Cheddar Gorge and the Cotswolds, the Lake District and the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands in what proved to be a popular six episode stint.

The star went on to add that one celebrity, albeit unlikely, he would like to see on the dancefloor is X Factor producer and judge Simon Cowell.

"I'd like him because I think he would be brilliant television," said Craig.

"I've met him, but I'm not friends with him. It was in America actually with Bruno," he added.

Craig, meanwhile, has previously backed dancer Anton Du Beke to be Bruno's permanent replacement.

Bruno was replaced temporarily by Anton on the judging panel when Covid-19 pandemic restrictions made it difficult for him to fly between the UK and the US.

Speaking at the time, Craig said: "I am so pleased he is a judge now finally. You know there are only so many years you can be on the front row with the dancing, then the second, then the third row and then the fourth and then the only place out of sheer death is the wing.

"I was pleased they got him off the dancefloor and put him where he belongs. So bravo Anton. I hope he comes back next year, I am sure he will."
