Craig Levein in 'I'd manage Hibs and take them down' quip as former Hearts boss teased on managerial future

Craig Levein quipped he would love to get Hibs relegated if he ever got the chance to manage the Edinburgh club.

Levein was appearing as a guest on BBC podcast 'Sacked in the Morning' with presenter Amy Irons.

In a teaser clip ahead of the episode being aired, the 57-year-old was asked a series of quick fire questions with one notably being if he would rather manage Hibs or manage Celtic.

Initially it's a no go question for Levein before he comes to terms that he could ruin his old city rivals.

He replied: "Oh dear. I can't manage Hibs. I can't do that.

"And I make enough noise about not liking the Old Firm, so I can't manage Celtic either.

"Or I could manage Hibs and take them down.

"I never thought of that option."

Irons agreed with the former Hearts manager's view and suggested he could intentionally do terrible in order to take the Leith club down the league's.

He joked: "Well, I suppose they would probably say that's the only thing I can be.

"But yeah I would manage Hibs and take them down.

"And as long as I was in a job I would keep taking them down."

Levein is currently a pundit on BBC Sportsound and also has an advisory role at Highland League side Brechin City.
