Craig Halkett is set to be called up to the Scotland squad for the upcoming friendlies by Steve Clarke.
The national side are to take on Poland followed by the loser of the Wales vs Austria play-off for World Cup 2022.
And with injuries to Halkett's Hearts team-mate John Souttar, Leeds stopper Liam Cooper and now Scott McKenna the Daily Mail are reporting he's set to be given the nod.
Halkett has been on fine form for the best defence in the Scottish Premiership outside of Celtic and Rangers.
He has struck up a great partnership with Stephen Kingsley in recent weeks while Souttar - who was given a late call-up to the squad in November - is sidelined.
Record Sport exclusively revealed earlier that Sunderland striker Ross Stewart will also get the nod.
The frontman has bagged an impressive 22 goals for the Mackems this season.
And that red-hot form is set to see him rewarded with international recognition.
Scotland face Poland on Thursday after the war in Ukraine meant they couldn't fulfil the Qatar 2022 play-off which has been postponed to June.
They'll then play either Wales or Austria the following Tuesday.
