Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon was hit with a missile during his side's Europa League playoff clash against FC Zurich on Thursday night.
The incident occurred on the 67th minute when an object, which appeared to be a coin, came flying towards the stopper's head from the direction the away end. The match referee came over to check if Gordon was okay in the immediate aftermath.
Gordon was seen clutching the back of his head but was able to continue with the sides level on the night at that moment, reports The Daily Record.
There was also smoke seen coming from Zurich end which could lead to a hefty UEFA fine.
Robbie Neilson's men were vying to reach the group stage of Europa League with a victory over their Swiss counterparts.
But defeat sees them drop into the Europa Conference League to join the likes of West Ham and Shamrock Rovers.
