Craig Doyle declares 'cheerio' as he 'walks off' ITV This Morning over surprising admission

Craig Doyle declared 'cheerio' as she jokingly 'walked off' of This Morning while live. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Thursday (April 13) alongside Josie Gibson as the pair near the end of their week-long stint fronting the popular programme.

It was revealed last week that the duo would be back fronting the show after becoming a firm favourite among viewers during their various stints at the forefront. This week, Josie and Craig have replaced This Morning's usual Friday hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary after they spent last week filling in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

And it's been a busy week on-screen for the pair with Craig admitting at the start of Thursday's show that he was feeling a bit tired. But it wasn't long before a 'controversial' debate kicked off on the show. Early into the penultimate episode of the week, Craig and Josie were joined by Tom Swarbrick and Nick Ferrari.

The quartet then proceeded to discuss the latest news headlines and the topics getting people talking in the daily 'This Morning's View' segment. Among the stories being discussed was the current frozen chip shortage.

It is then that Craig admitted: "Can I say something controversial, I don’t particularly like potatoes," to which LBC presenter Tom exclaimed: "What?!" while dropping his papers onto the floor. "Oh my goodness," Josie then proclaimed, before adding: "How?"

As they shared their disbelief, Craig looked slightly sheepish before he then got up to shake the hands of his co-stars as he prepared to walk off the set. "It’s been nice knowing you," Josie joked as Craig quipped: "See you later cheerio, bye," as he walked off-screen.

After a brief moment off-screen Craig eventually came back and sat down next to Josi but he couldn't brush over his admission. After being quizzed on why he doesn't like potatoes Craig said: "I don't know, chips are fine but I'm not sure."
