Crafty Egg Café opens new Bristol venue today

Popular eatery The Crafty Egg will be opening its second cafe at a former pub in Fishponds today (April 21).

Known for its impeccable menu as well as the plants that they sell, Crafty Egg's current venue in Stokes Croft often has long queues outside. So, when the news was announced in January that they were opening a second branch in Fishponds, customers were delighted - especially Fishponds locals.

The Crafty Egg posted an update on its Facebook page last night saying it would be opening today (April 21). It wrote: "3 months to the day since getting the keys and opening day looks like it’s finally upon us. Tomorrow.

"There’s still a fair few snaggings, so don’t be too shocked if we’re fixing a skirting board or hanging a picture while you’re here. The kitchen will be serving a limited menu and a limited capacity while we find our feet.

"Our hours for the first week or 2 will only be until 4pm. It won’t be long before we open much later with a full Bristol bar on offer.

"Our amazing new staff will be working in a new and scary place so please be gentle with us. We’ll be doing our best to bring our best to Fishponds. See you soon we hope."

Since then the post, has received more than 90 comments, with many saying how they are looking forward to visiting the new cafe. One said: "Looks amazing so great to have this venue on my doorstep. #No need to travel to have fun."

Another one wrote: "Wow! It looks amazing! Congratulations! Look forward to seeing it for real soon. So pleased to have The Crafty Egg in Fishponds!"

Another social media user wrote that they would be visiting with friends next week, saying: "Myself and friends will be in next week looking forward to meeting you all soon."

"Looks like I might have to come up from Cornwall this weekend," said another.

And it seems it will also be a popular WFH spot: "I’ll be working from home in here at least one day a week."

With more than 250 reviews, the Crafty Egg in Stokes Croft is currently ranked the best brunch spot in the city in TripAdvisor.
