Residents near an East Kilbride park could have been forgiven for thinking they were seeing things at the weekend.
Householders, dog walkers and park users were confronted with the udderly weird sight of five cows happily wandering around Lammermoor Park.
The animals were spotted just after noon on Sunday, near to Kenilworth and allotment plots, and police officers were in attendance.
There is a dairy farm in the vicinity but it's not known if that's where the animals came from or how they broke free from their own field.
One bemused householder told Lanarkshire Live: "There were five of them and they were just quite happy wandering about chewing on the grass, not doing any harm, but it's not what you expect to see out your window.

"The farmer was here pretty quickly to be fair to get them, but it caused a bit of amusement for folk."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Kenilworth around 12.30pm. The farmer attended and took them back to the field."
