Cowboys taped photos of Bills defenders’ faces to their practice pads as an odd motivational tactic

Sunday’s Week 15 matchup in Western New York is a monumental one for the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills.

Should Dallas come out victorious, it will keep hold of a crucial NFC East lead over the rival Philadelphia Eagles. Should Buffalo leave with a win, it may start a surge toward a playoff push, perhaps even an AFC East title, in the event the Miami Dolphins falter down the stretch. With these kinds of stakes, the Cowboys are pulling out all the stops to ensure they’re in the proper mindset.

During Thursday’s practice, Dallas taped pictures of Bills defenders to its practice equipment so players could theoretically visualize dominating Buffalo. It’s a bit odd, but hey, I guess you’ll take any motivation where you can get it:

For what it’s worth, the Cowboys possess the NFL’s No. 1 scoring offense, the No. 2 offense in expected points added (EPA) per play, the No. 4 offense in total yards, and the No. 6 offense in DVOA efficiency. So, I find it rather hard to question how Dallas decides to amp itself up for a big December game with a playoff atmosphere.

This was how Twitter reacted to the Cowboys' motivational tactics
