There’s no shortage of praise, or at the very least serious appreciation, for Cowboys star Micah Parsons. The 24-year-old has wasted no time becoming widely viewed as one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
The proof of this comes from his 56 quarterback hits, 33 tackles for loss, 26.5 sacks and six forced fumbles in just two seasons. But if more convincing was needed, the comments from his fellow players during the reveal of the NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2023 by NFL Network and NFL Films should do the job.
Parsons came in ranked at No. 9 this season, jumping up from No. 16 last year. During the breakdown of his talent, he received praise from his own teammate Zack Martin, along with numerous other players such as Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and Giants rusher Saquon Barkley.
But the comment that jumped out for being a hilariously perfect evaluation of Parsons came from Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson.
“First of all he’s like a bobcat on the field. It’s like trying to get your hands on a cat. He has that 4.3 speed coming out of college, he knows how to dip, and he’s around 6-foot-2 but he plays really low,” Lane Johnson told NFL Films. “You combine that athleticism with the motor that he has and it creates a lot of problems.”
Here’s a look at the full clip. There’s certainly no question that Parsons has put the NFL on notice through his first two seasons in the NFL.
