Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb wouldn’t mind winning the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award, but he decided to use his media time on Thursday to advocate for a fellow NFC opponent instead.
Lamb chose to speak about San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, who currently holds the best odds for the award at -357 according to SI Sportsbook.
He referred to McCaffrey’s “workhorse role” for the 49ers, Dallas Morning News’ Michael Gehlken reported. McCaffrey’s versatility on the field is undeniable, tallying 1,459 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, while also catching 67 passes for 564 yards and seven touchdowns.
Lamb made sure to clarify that he would be fine with being considered for the award as well.
“But if you want to throw my name in there, that’s cool, too,” Lamb added.
Lamb has had a record year himself, as he’s totaled a career-high 1,651 yards and 10 touchdowns. His odds sit at +1743, which are the third best on SI Sportsbook.
