Just in time for the Easter holidays, the Canary Islands have scrapped all Covid restrictions.
Although part of the Spanish territory, the local government are responsible for the health protocols and issued a level system for the islands.
Until yesterday (Thursday March 24), Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura were the only regions of Spain that was yet to lift a dancing ban.

Canaries President Angel Victor Torres announced on Tuesday that the prohibition would be removed, but emphasised that restrictions could return should the Covid cases and health of the citizens become concerning.
Mr Torres said: “It is not the end of the pandemic, of course not. We will remain vigilant.”
Although they have lifted the rule to wear masks outside, face masks still need to be worn by anyone over the age of six in public enclosed spaces, on public transport and at large, open air, standing events and seated events where social distancing of 1.5m cannot be observed.
Entry requirements for Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura
- Complete a Health Control Form.
- To enter the Canary Islands, you need to present proof of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
- If it's been over 270 days since your second dose, you will need a booster jab 14 days prior to arriving.
- You can also gain entry by providing proof of recovering from Covid-19 in the past year. You can read more about that here.
- Only those aged between 12 to 17 can enter by using a negative PCR Covid test result.
