Covid infections have increased by three quarters in one part of the Liverpool City Region.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, Wirral recorded 670 cases in the week ending June 23, which is 291 more cases than the previous week.
This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure rose by 77% in Wirral.

The separate areas of the Liverpool City Region all logged increases in the week-on-week percentage change figures in the week ending June 23. The rises were: 58% in Knowsley; 38% in Liverpool; 30% in Halton; 42% in St Helens; 77% in Wirral; and, 43% in Sefton.
There were also increases in West Lancs, Cheshire West and Chester, and Warrington.
In England, the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 36% in the week ending June 23.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 923 cases in the week ending June 23, which is 255 more cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 38%. The latest infection rate was 184.4 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 670 cases in the week ending June 23, which is 291 more cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 77%. The latest infection rate was 206.6 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 279 positive tests over the last week - that's 64 more cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 30% in Halton in the week ending June 23. The latest infection rate is 215.0 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 360 cases in the week ending June 23, which is 107 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 198.8 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 42%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 268 cases in the week ending June 23, which is 98 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 175.8 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 58%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 566 cases in the week ending June 23, which is a 171 more cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 205.1 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases increased by 43% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 3,066 positive tests over in the week ending June 23, which is 986 more cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change increased by 47%. The latest infection rate is 180.06 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 422 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending June 23, which is 111 more cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure increased by 36%. There was an infection rate of 201.53 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 711 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending June 23, which is 221 more cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure increased by 45%. There was an infection rate of 206.79 per 100,000 people.
West Lancs
There were 207 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending June 23, which is 35 more cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 180.79 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage increased by 20% in cases.
England
In the week ending June 23, England recorded 105,640 coronavirus cases, which is 27,782 more cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage increased by 36% in England. There was an infection rate of 186.81 per 100,000 people.
