The Liverpool City Region recorded a fall in Covid infections of almost 25%.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the LCR recorded 10,333 infections in the week ending April 2 - that's 3,223 fewer infections than the previous week. That meant there was a week-on-week percentage change figure fall of 24% in the LCR.
Every part of the Liverpool City Region saw a fall in week-on-week percentage change figures. The falls were: 25% in Knowsley; 20% in Liverpool; 17% in Halton; 25% in St Helens; 28% in Sefton; 26% in Wirral. West Lancs, Cheshire West and Chester and Warrington all recorded falls in infections too. England recorded a fall of 23% in positive Covid tests in the week ending April 2.

Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 2,953 cases in the week ending April 2, which is 731 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 20%. The latest infection rate was 590.0 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 2,418 cases in the week ending April 2, which is 869 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 26%. The latest infection rate was 745.5 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 997 positive tests over the last week - that's 199 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 17% in Halton in the week ending April 2. The latest infection rate is 768.3 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 1,194 cases in the week ending April 2, which is 407 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 659.3 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 25%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 972 cases in the week ending April 2, which is 318 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 637.6 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 25%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 1,799 cases in the week ending April 2, which is a 699 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 652.1 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases went down by 28% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 10,333 positive tests over in the week ending April 2, which is 3,223 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 24%. The latest infection rate is 606.84 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 1,655 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 2, which is 263 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure decreased by 14%. There was an infection rate of 790.36 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 2,767 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 2, which is 836 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 804.77 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage dropped by 23% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 701 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 2, which is 216 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 612.25 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage dropped by 24% in cases.
England
In the week ending April 2, England recorded 382,877 coronavirus cases, which is 113,308 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. There was a week-on-week percentage drop of 23% in cases in England, and there was an infection rate of 677.06 per 100,000 people.
