COVID hits Bulldogs NRL captain Jackson

Canterbury skipper Josh Jackson will miss the NRL clash with Sydney Roosters due to COVID-19. (AAP)

Canterbury have been hit by another COVID-19 setback with captain Josh Jackson testing positive ahead of Saturday's NRL clash with the Sydney Roosters.

The last-placed Bulldogs lost four players for last round's loss to Brisbane, forced to seek exemptions for both Jacob Kiraz and Billy Tsikrikas to debut from outside the squad's top 30.

The Bulldogs are hopeful Jackson remains the only positive case this week, the skipper testing himself at home on Wednesday's day off after feeling unwell.
