COVID-19 case numbers from around the states and territories

Here's a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction's latest COVID-19 statistics today — Friday, April 15.

Victoria

Victoria has recorded a further seven COVID-related deaths.

The state reported 9,664 new infections, bringing the number of active cases to 57,910.

There are 374 patients who are in Victorian hospitals after contracting COVID-19.

Of those, 20 are in intensive care units and four are on ventilators.

The health department said an earlier, incorrect figure of 14 people in ICU was due to a reporting error.

Nearly 67 per cent of adults have had three doses of a coronavirus vaccine.

New South Wales

NSW recorded 16 deaths and 15,367 new cases in the 24 hours to 4pm on Friday.

There are 1,485 people with COVID-19 in hospital and there are 69 people in intensive care.

Northern Territory

The NT has recorded 448 new cases of COVID-19.

There are 29 patients with COVID-19 in hospital, with two in intensive care and six patients requiring oxygen.

Western Australia

Western Australia has recorded 7,990 new cases of COVID-19, down slightly from yesterday's figure.

There are currently 40,731 active cases of the virus in the state.

One more death has been reported — a woman in her 90s who died on April 13.

The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 has also fallen slightly to 197, with four in intensive care.

Queensland

Two people with COVID-19 have died in Queensland.

The state has recorded 7,673 new cases, with a total of 51,452 active cases.

There are 574 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 21 in ICU.

South Australia

Seven people with COVID-19 have died in South Australia.

The state has recorded 4,062 new cases, with an active case total of 33,061.

There are 209 people in hospital, with 11 in ICU and one person on a ventilator.

Tasmania

The state has recorded 1,489 new cases, with an active case total of 10,474.

There are 55 people in hospital, with one patient in ICU.
