COVID-19 case numbers from around the states and territories

Here's a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction's latest COVID-19 statistics today — Saturday, September 3.

Victoria

There have been another 10 COVID-19 deaths.

There are 298 cases in hospital, with 13 of those in intensive care and five requiring ventilation.

There were 2,013 new cases today. 

NSW

The state has recorded 18 more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 1,691 cases in hospital, 39 of those in intensive care. 

There were 3,602 new cases announced today.

South Australia

There have been another six COVID-19 deaths in South Australia.

There are 93 cases in hospital, with eight of those people in intensive care and two requiring ventilation.

There were 532 new cases reported today. 

ACT

The territory has recorded no further COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 91 cases in hospital, including one in intensive care and one requiring ventilation.

There were 180 new cases announced today.

Western Australia

The state has recorded four more COVID-19 deaths.

There are 209 cases in hospital, including five in intensive care.

There were 1,076 new cases announced today.

Tasmania

There were 179 new cases reported today, including one death.

There are 29 patients with COVID-19 in hospital, including one person in ICU.

Queensland

Queensland no longer reports COVID-19 statistics on weekends. 

Northern Territory

The NT no longer reports COVID-19 statistics on weekends.

Mutations in the COVID-19 virus continue to pose a risk.
