Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres has admitted he was aware of interest during the recent January transfer window but was completely committed to the Championship outfit.
Gyokeres, who has been capped 11 times by Sweden, has 13 goals for Mark Robins' side so far this term and was one of a handful of strikers linked with a mid-season switch to Goodison Park.
However, as Coventry City stood firm in an attempt to keep hold of their talisman, the Blues were unable to bring in a suitable replacement for Anthony Gordon, who departed Goodison Park to move to Newcastle United for an initial £45m.

But the 24-year-old has now admitted to the BBC that he was aware of such speculation but underlined his commitment to Coventry City and their outside chances of breaking into the play-offs.
"Yeah but I was just focused on being here and didn't have any thoughts on other things," said Gyokeres "I was just thinking about the games we had during January, focusing on Coventry, and that's what I did."
On Thursday afternoon, Sean Dyche defended the club's failings to recruit attacking reinforcements, saying: "People worked hard to get deals done with certain situations. Sometimes it’s just simple alignment. It’s not always just about money."
It is unclear who exactly the Blues boss was referring to during his press conference at Everton's Finch Farm training base, though it remains to be seen if the club will reignite any interest in the Swede in the summer - should Robins' side fail to earn promotion to the Premier League.
The ECHO reported on deadline day that it would require a "huge" bid for Coventry City to even consider one of their most important assets midway through the season.
