Courtney Stodden has spoken out about being "absolutely taken advantage" of and "feeling groomed" during her controversial 10-year marriage to actor Doug Hutchison.
The model and singer made the revelations as she announced that she was officially divorced.
Courtney, 25 took to Instagram writing: "It’s March 3rd, 2020 - today I am officially divorced from actor Doug Hutchison. It’s an emotional day for me."
The former couple generated a lot of negative media attention when they tied the knot in 2011, as Courtney was just 16 at the time, and Doug at 51 was 34 years her senior.
The ceremony was legally allowed to go ahead because Courtney's mum Krista gave parental consent and even served as a witness.
Referring to a picture Courtne posted alongside the announcement of Doug planting a kiss on her cheek, she wrote: "I look back at this picture and feel absolutely taken advantage of.
"I've been scared to even speak up about feeling groomed or being verbally abused during the almost 10 year marriage because I was a child and he was 50 when we married but I’m a woman now and it’s time for me to put my big girl pants on and speak on this matter.
She continued: "I've felt completely trapped, manipulated and at times abandoned by adults // growing up in such an environment — it became a lonely and dark place."
Courtney and Doug continued to court headlines during their tumultuous marriage appearing on numerous reality TV shows such as Celebrity Big Brother , Couple's Therapy and Celebs Go Dating.
They first split in 2013 after two years of marriage, reconciling in 2015. Courtney then filed for divorce in March 2018.
Addressing the Green Mile actor, she wrote:"And to Doug... I’ll always love you; yet I’ll always be angry.
"You've left me — a child woman, feeling belittled and confused. These things I shall overcome. I wish you well. But please don't ever do this to another minor again. It's not right... even if the parent signs off.
"Wait a respectable amount of time before marrying. Children aren't on your level. I'll always love you regardless. Be better. As shall I."
She also revealed that she would be sharing more details about her life and marriage, writing: "Stay tuned for my book."
Courtney Stodden recently tearfully confessed that she tried to take her own life last year.
The model and singer bravely opened up about how she got to such a low point that she felt she had no choice but to kill herself.
But Courtney also details how happy she is that it didn't work.
In a brave video confession she says: "So today marks the official date that I am divorced from actor Doug Hutchison.
"I'm feeling strong today, I thought when this day would come I didn't know how I would feel but I'm feeling super strong, and that's the main reason and why I'm deciding to make this video."
She added: "It's no secret that I've struggled with depression, I have opened up multiple times about my struggle with depression."
The former Celebs Go Dating star says she's currently working on a book that will detail her childhood, her marriage and where she is today.
She continues: "But today I also wanted to address something that I've been holding in, out of fear, out of concern that I'm just going to be looked at completely differently."
