Courteney Cox is Jennifer Aniston's double in Instagram birthday message

In the 1990s, copying Jennifer Aniston‘s famed Rachel Green hairstyle was all the rage among diehard Friendsfans.

And now more than two decades on, her sitcom co-star Courteney Cox has jumped on the bandwagon.

On Tuesday, Cox shared a photograph on Instagram of her with Aniston to mark her friend’s 51st birthday.

In the picture, Aniston is wearing 1970s-style glasses and her blonde hair down past her shoulders, with Cox sporting a similar look.

“No matter how hard you might try... there’s only one Jennifer Aniston,” Cox wrote in the caption. “Happy birthday my dear friend @jenniferaniston! I love you!”

Aniston was clearly delighted with her good friend’s attempt to impersonate her, commenting with a series of cry-laughing, heart and kissing emojis.

Reese Witherspoon similarly found Cox’s impersonation hilarious, while actor and comedian David Spade remarked: “This is better than it should be. Good job.”

Cox was one of several Hollywood A-listers to wish Aniston a happy birthday on Instagram, with messages also being shared by individuals including The Morning Show‘s ex-husband Justin Theroux and comedian Chelsea Handler.

Aniston marked her birthday by sharing a photograph taken for her recent profile with Interview magazine, in which she was interviewed by fellow actor Sandra Bullock.

“Thanks to the Interview team for celebrating women at every age... turns out 51 is pretty fun,” she wrote in the caption.

In the interview, Aniston spoke to Bullock about being raised in a household that felt “destabilised and unsafe”.

She explained that watching adults acting in an “unkind” manner towards one another made her not want to behave in a similar way when she grew up.

”Witnessing certain things about human behaviour that made me think: ‘I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to be that. I don’t want to experience this feeling I’m having in my body right now. I don’t want anyone else that I ever come in contact with ever to feel that’,” Aniston said.

“So I guess I have my parents to thank. You can either be angry or be a martyr, or you can say, ‘You’ve got lemons? Let’s make lemonade.”

During last month’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, Aniston was pictured reuniting with her ex-husband Brad Pitt backstage.

The actors embraced joyfully as they bumped into one another, having both won accolades during the awards ceremony.

Aniston won the award for Female Actor in a Drama Series for her performance in The Morning Show, while Pitt received the prize for Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his turn in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
