Couple with matching face ink vow to both get bodies 100% covered in tattoos

A couple who got married just weeks after matching on Tinder have vowed to get their bodies completely covered in tattoos.

Terry and Carine Owens have been stared at in public because of their eye catching appearance since tying the knot two years ago.

The pair, from Washington, USA, share a love for body ink and both got their first tattoo as teenagers.

“Out in public we get mostly positive reactions and we actually get complimented and stared at a lot," Carine, 36, told the Daily Star.

“But we are nicely dressed and we are always courteous and polite. People don’t get bad vibes from us and they seem to love our artwork.”

The mum told of her "major rebellious phase" when she got her first tattoo aged 14.

"It was a s**t little dragon tattoo that I picked from the wall and got on my butt cheek, the only place my dad wouldn’t see it," she joked.

Coincidentally, Carine's husband Terry also got his first tattoo at the same tender age.

The former professional skateboarder turned tattooist now has 90% of his skin inked.

While Carine is an artist and painter who is 65% of the way there.

Terry, now 41, remembered his earliest ink of an anarchy symbol on his left arm.

"We were doing homemade tattoos and I was very punk rock back then. It just seemed right,” he added.

The parents, who had a baby boy together in April, have a number of matching tattoos including the words “never apart” on their eyelids.

And Carine is now determined to catch up with her husband’s number of tattoos.

She is aiming to be fully covered within two years.

But the mum said it will be "a slow road" for her due to her very low pain tolerance.

She added: “It’s definitely a kind of accomplishment because so much time, thought and money goes into being fully covered.

“I like the shock value and I love the idea of decorating my body with beautiful artwork.

“Not all my tattoos have meaning. I just like the way they look and flow with the rest of my work.”

The pair also having matching Luciferian crosses, the Taurus symbol for their son and the sigil of resurrection.

But not everyone is impressed with their body art.

"My family don’t like my tattoos but they don’t really mention them any more," Carine said.

"They know it’s not up for discussion and I’m old enough to make my own decisions.

“I also get some scandalised looks from little old ladies at times.”

Carine laughed at trolls who mock her tattoos and said they have "no taste".

"My tattoos look awesome and I don’t really care if people don’t like them,” she added.

Her husband, who has tattooed his own body, now aims to cover up any gaps.

Terry said: “Skin is boring. I have been tattooing myself for two years now since I became a tattoo artist.

“It’s a good way to practice and to black out my old tattoos I don’t like any more.”

Addressing his own trolls, the dad said: “See you in hell.”
