A woman was taken to hospital following a devastating house fire in Leeds last night.
Fire crews from Leeds and Hunslet stations were called to Broom Crescent, in the Belle Isle area of Leeds, at around 11pm.
A caller told emergency services that people were trapped inside the house but on arrival, firefighters found a man and a woman had already escaped the fire.
The woman suffered smoke inhalation after the fire started on the ground floor but spread upwards through the property. She was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Photos appear to show the living room window and front door completely blown out by the flames and the plastic frames have melted.
Two more windows - one on the ground floor and another on the landing - have also been destroyed by the fire, while the front of the house is charred due to smoke damage.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a high powered fan to clear smoke from the property.
"Smoke detection was fitted but unsure if it actuated due to the damage to the property.
"Two pumps from Hunslet and one from Leeds attended. A fire investigation officer has also attended to investigate the cause of the fire."
A person who lives nearby said firefighters were at the scene damping down until around 2am.
