A pregnant couple who were excited to find out whether they were having a boy or a girl were shocked to find a special cake meant to reveal their child's gender had not been prepared properly.
The pair decided to have an intimate reveal just themselves, where they would cut into the bespoke cake and the colour, either pink or blue, would tell them their baby's gender.
The expectant parents were left speechless after the bakery they went to accidentally ruined their gender reveal by supplying the wrong cake, reports the Mirror.
Pregnant mum Lyss, who posts from her account @alyssa_quintos on TikTok, shared a video of the reveal with her partner. The viral clip since has since been viewed more than 14 million times.
Captioning the post, Lyss wrote: "When the bakery has one job." The video clip features the pair slicing into their cake to reveal the colour underneath.
The TikTok video shows their reaction, however, as they unveil a normal sponge cake without the specific colours inside.
Lyss and her partner were able to see the funny side and burst into laughter upon discovering the unnamed bakery's error, with her partner saying: "To be continued."
"I think they gave us the wrong cake! It's yellow," they joked. Since sharing the mishap, the video has had over 4,500 comments.
One person wrote: "Wow, it's a human, congrats!" Another TikTok user said jokingly: "Congratulations on your white baby!!"
Another person said: "Whenever I make a gender reveal cake or cupcakes I’m terrified I will accidentally forget to add the color inside!"
A fourth wrote: "The cake shop are saying you will know when the time is right."
