A couple were disappointed to find that their KFC order arrived at their home looking less than stellar.
Luke West and Holly Stedman placed an order worth around £30 to KFC through Uber Eats on Sunday.
However, when it arrived, they said it looked like it had been "kicked around a football pitch", had "lipstick drawn on it", and everything was covered with gravy.
The couple complained to the KFC the order had come from, but Holly said the member of staff said she spoke to "didn't listen" and "hung up" without helping.
Speaking to PlymouthLive, Holly said: "It was disgusting. I wasn't impressed and paid £30 for it to come in a state.
"We ordered from KFC's branch on Wolseley Road through UberEats and when we received the food, it was ripped and it looked like it had been kicked around on a football field and gravy was all over it."
"And to top it all off, the chicken was covered in some red pint almost as if it had lipstick drawn on it.," she explained.
Holly added that it was "really disrespectful" the way she was spoken to by the branch's staff.
She said: "They told me I had to contact UberEats and they will send back the driver ad do a whole new order.
"Half an hour later, I still hadn't received the order."
The couple visited the branch in person and received a new order later. They were advised to seek a refund through the UberEats app.
UberEats did refund the couple for the order, but they are upset by the way they were treated by KFC's customer service.
A KFC spokesperson told PlymouthLive: "We’re sorry to hear Luke was put off his meal, that’s the last thing we want!
"We know delivery can be a bit of a bumpy ride sometimes, but we work hard to ensure our food is delivered in finger lickin’ condition. We’ve not had any similar complaints, but we appreciate this isn’t up to scratch so our team is looking into what happened.
"In the meantime, we would love for Luke to get in touch with us so we can make things right.”
