A couple were disgusted to find a dead lizard in their takeaway curry after ordering a takeaway meal.
Kaustav Kumar Sina and Risha Sharma, were self-isolating at home after testing positive for Covid-19 when they ordered food from Punjabi Rasoi.
It was brought to them by delivery service Zomato on Friday.
But after tucking into the take away, they were shocked to see the lifeless reptile covered in sauce in the dish.
The couple, from Uttar Pradesh, northern India, vomited after the discovery and consulted their doctor, who gave them some medicine to avoid any infection transmitted from the creature.
On Mr Sina's Twtter account @kaustav2277, he wrote to @Zomato.
He said: "Shocked now to find a dead lizard in the food we ordered from 'Punjabi Rasoi' restaurant at Greater Noida West.
"Now we all are purposely throwing up. On top of covid this was so absurd experience."
@Zomatocare responded, saying: "Kaustav, as per our telephonic conversation, your concern has been addressed. Do reach out to us for any further assistance."
The couple were later given a refund from Zomato but, according to local reports, allegedly did not receive a positive response from the restaurant itself.
Two days later, they filed a complaint with the police, who are currently investigating the bizarre incident.
