Airbnb has revealed its most wishlisted stays in the UK that cost less than £100 per night - and one is in County Durham.
The accommodation giant revealed the list to give inspiration for a budget-friendly getaway as the cost of living crisis continues to bite. And in addition to not having far to travel, North East guests can make the escape from £59 per night.
The Butterfly Cottage is a converted barn near St John's Chapel in the North Pennines AONB. Set in a "peaceful" location, it has a balcony which over looks Weardale and is said to be in an ideal location for visiting Northumberland, Cumbria and County Durham.

It is run by "superhosts" Anita and Bruce and has a rating of 4.91/5 from 284 reviews. Anita and Bruce have been described as "helpful and attentive" by one reviewer, while another said they were "welcoming and friendly".
Another review describing the cottage itself rather than the hosts, read: "Beautiful place in a beautiful location! Lovely cottage for two with great views over the valley and was blessed to wake up to snow after the first night, making it even more wonderful!"
Another wrote: "Fantastic cottage in an amazing location. Beautiful part of the country with access to amazing walks, views and scenery. The cottage was very cosy with the wood burner and it was incredibly quiet. Amazing welcome pack including freshly baked bread, doggie treats and bubbly - who could want more. Highly recommended for a peaceful escape."
