Country to Country returning to Dublin’s 3Arena in 2023 after thousands enjoy showcase of Nashville’s biggest stars

Country to Country is set to return to Dublin’s 3Arena next year after a hugely successful weekend.

Thousands of country music fans travelled from across Ireland and beyond to watch more than a dozen of Nashville’s biggest stars perform under one roof.

The three-day showcase saw Darius Rucker, Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert headline the annual event, which made its highly anticipated return after a two-year Covid break.

And now organisers have confirmed that the music festival is set to return next March.

Country to Country is due to take place in Dublin’s 3Arena on March 10, 11 and 12, 2023.

As with other years, it is also expected to happen simultaneously in London and Scotland on that weekend.

The popularity of the Country to Country festival underlines the seemingly unquenchable appetite for American country music in Ireland.

The rare excitement of hearing high-calibre country music in Ireland was tangible among fans right across the weekend.

Traditionally, America’s biggest country stars rarely make trips to Europe, but that is changing thanks to the Country to Country music festival.

The Nashville sound crossing the Atlantic isn’t the traditional tone associated with acts of the past, but is now mixed with rock riffs and catchy pop choruses while still maintaining its country roots.

It’s not so much that Ireland is only now embracing country music, it’s more that country music is embracing Ireland in a way that it rarely did before.

The festival is ever-growing in popularity, which was highlighted by sell-out crowds this weekend.

Darius Rucker, Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert headlined the three nights, with C2C veterans Kip Moore, Ashley McBryde and Brett Young also on the bill. They were joined by former American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, Russell Dickerson, Flatland Cavalry, Runaway June, Tenille Townes, Hailey Whitters, Pricilla Block, Tiera Kennedy and Morgan Wade across the three nights.

Many fans will be eager to buy tickets for next year’s event when they go on sale soon, despite the line-up not due to be released until later this year.

However they are sure not to be disappointed as it is the only festival of its kind bringing successful, contemporary, American country artists together for a three-day celebration in Ireland.

Previous headliners included the likes of Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan and Eric Church.

A limited number of Earlybird tickets for 2023 will go on sale soon, while tickets will go on general sale later this year.
