Countdown whizz Carol Vorderman spends idyllic weekend in 'happy paradise' just a short drive from Bristol

Carol Vorderman has made fans jealous after sharing some beautiful snaps of her enviable weekend in the Brecon Beacons. The Countdown whizz, who lives between Clifton and Pembrokeshire, spent the 'perfect Sunday' at the beauty spot, which takes less than an hour to drive to from Bristol.

The 61-year-old often keeps her 200,000 Instagram followers in the loop via selfies, breathtaking nature snaps, and van renovations. Carol has also shared her love of Wales with fans countless times, accompanied by stunning scenic images of the country.

On Sunday (March 6), Carol took to Instagram to post some gorgeous coastal views and happy smiles. Updating her followers, she said: "Sunday....another perfect day....with my big bud Clare,

"12 miles and a mountain in the @breconbeacons...lovely hike.. Snack with a view (looks better in real life).. Only saw a handful of people today....it felt like we were walking in a happy paradise. Got back in time for a sunset and a pretty crescent moon high in the sky #hiking #beacons #dirtybootsandmessyhair"

On Saturday (March 5), Carol went on a coastal walk with her 'Welsh fam', and posted a photo of her and some friends, claiming she was 'so happy'. She said: "I've had a lovely weekend.

"Saturday with my Welsh fam on a coastal walk @coachingwith_caroline and @_phildavies.....thank you for looking after me. Good job he's got long arms....or we would never got this pic.... Caroline + Me = useless.

"For non Welshies this is all around the Swansea area...stunning ....quiet, beautiful and then busy and full of lovely cafes....pick your spot... So happy."

Carol has shared her affinity for hiking in the great outdoors many a time with fans. In January, the star spent some time in the Portuguese sun after admitting she was dealing with seasonal affective disorder, walking 70 miles in one week.

Aside from Wales and walking, one of Carol's big loves is her 'Vordersvan'. The Pride of Britain host sold her £2.6million mansion near Weston-in-Gordano back in December, to buy a van to work on as a renovation project.

The grey 4X4 MAN van appears to be the apple of Carol's eye, and she is working with Van Life Builds, a company based just north of Bristol, to design her very own custom van. Having sold her mansion at the end of last year, Carol said she hopes that the van will be completed by the end of March, 'ready for proper adventuring'.
