Restaurant Week will be returning to North Tyneside after councillors backed plans to entice people with food deals and free parking.
In a rare case of cross-party agreement, both conservative and labour councillors voted in favour of a tory motion for the council to back plans to re-introduce the event to North Tyneside.
The council has agreed to make council parking free and to talk with Nexus to explore bringing down the price of metro tickets to make visits during the week easier.

Deputy Mayor Carl Johnson said: " I happily support this motion I think it's a great idea. The reason there is already a private sector company in the process of organising one this year.
"We will work with partners to try and make this a success for the fantastic restaurants around this borough and review it afterwards to see if in 20223 we can do a better job and do it in-house.
Tory councillor Liam Bones said: "I think it is particularly important the council does everything it can to make this a roaring success. I think the offer of free parking throughout restaurant week is a really appealing one, particularly when thinking of bringing residents to our town centres which can do with a boost this winter and in the coming spring.
"North Tyneside has a great wealth of restaurants which is where the motive of this motion comes from. I know in the past there have been restaurant weeks, one in 2017 and another attempt in 2020 which was thwarted by Covid-19.
"This motion allows us to bring people to North Tyneside and help people explore new venues at a reduced cost.
Tynemouth councillor Lewis Bartoli said: "The press coverage seems to echo the response I have had from businesses and residents who think this is a good idea for the borough."
