A councillor who was suspended from the Alliance Party six months ago has died suddenly.
Glenn Finlay was a councillor in Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council for the Dunsilly area.
In December, Mr Finlay was suspended from the Alliance Party due to "ongoing investigations".
The councillor, who was elected for the Dunsilly area in 2019, had remained in his council role as an independent.
The Alliance Party confirmed his death in a statement.
A party spokesman said: "We are shocked by the sudden death of Glenn Finlay.
"We would ask people respect the privacy of his family at this very difficult time and we extend to them our sincerest condolences."
A spokeswoman for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council said: "The council is sorry to learn of the passing of Councillor Glenn Finlay. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time."
