Nottingham City Council has confirmed it will be moving forward with court proceedings after a group of travellers have failed to move. The local authority confirmed the group which has pitched up at Ruddington Lane Recreation Ground, just off the A52, was given an eviction notice on Monday (May 23).
There are around 25 caravans or so still spread out across the site which is located either side of residential streets and includes a play area. It is not known exactly when the group arrived, but it is understood to be around Saturday (May 21) evening.

The appearance comes after another group were evicted from Nottingham's Victoria Embankment on Friday (May 20). Nottingham City Council said legal proceedings had started on Monday against that group too after a failure to comply with an eviction notice.
It is not known if the group at Ruddington is the same as the travellers who left the Victoria Embankment. A 22-year-old mother of a new-born baby currently on the Ruddington site told Nottinghamshire Live of her "difficult" first year on the road.
