'Could take six months' - Liverpool sent blunt Bukayo Saka transfer message amid Arsenal exit rumours

Arsenal will not sell star forward Bukayo Saka to either Liverpool or Manchester City this summer, according to Kevin Campbell.

And the Sky Sports presenter is hopeful that the Gunners' versatile England international will instead put pen to paper on a new deal. But City and Jurgen Klopp's side were linked with Saka by the Daily Mail last month, but that was before Mohamed Salah signed a new three-year deal with the Reds.

But when it was put for former Gunners forward Campbell that the North London club could look to cash in on Saka before the end of the transfer window, he was having none of it. Speaking on Highbury Squad, he said: “He is already under contract. These things are not just going to get done in a couple of months. These things could take six months, but Arsenal are not, trust me, they are not going to sell Saka in this window. No chance. No chance.”

The likelihood of Saka moving to Anfield seems particularly slim, following the new deal for Salah and the high-profile acquisition of Darwin Nunez from Benfica, in a deal that could rise to as high as £85million. But with age on his side and the apparent required skillset to slot into Klopp's effective system, supporters will be monitoring the 20-year-olds progress with a vested interest.
