Liverpool fans have been raving about Stefan Bajcetic following his superb performance in the win over Everton.
His inclusion in the starting line-up raised eyebrows initially as Jurgen Klopp entrusted an 18-year-old to make up the midfield three against the Reds city rivals. The Spanish youngster made way for Naby Keita in second-half stoppage time and received a standing ovation from the Anfield faithful.
His display didn't disappoint and repaid the German in his faith in the midfielder as he put on a mature performance in Liverpool's 2-0 win over their Merseyside rivals. They ended their duck in 2023 after goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo, his first since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in January.

PLAYER RATINGS: Stefan Bajcetic and two others shine in win over Everton
During his 91-minute display, he won two tackles, made five recoveries, winning 33 per cent of his ground duels. He received high praise from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, earning the man of the match award.
"I’m going to give it to that young man," he said. "Listen, I think Nunez has been electric, Salah’s been, but for a young man at his age to play in a Merseyside derby and put in the performance that he’s done, he’s kept a lot of big players out [of the team] the last couple of weeks - they’ve won championships, Champions Leagues - and I wasn’t sure this was the game for him tonight considering the power and the physicality of the Everton midfield.
"I think he’s been absolutely outstanding, I think he’s dealt with the demands physically, won challenges, but also his quality on the ball as well. He should be well pleased with how it’s gone for him tonight."
And the Reds fans agreed as Bajcetic was lauded, here's how Twitter reacted:
