Millions across the country will again receive some help with the rising cost of living next year.
However, the 2023 payment will now be given on a means-tested basis as opposed to the blanket £400 boost given to each household this year. It means that you will need to meet certain eligibility criteria in order to receive the next cost of living payment, which has been split into three amounts - £150, £300, and £900.
The payments will be in addition to the £650 cost of living payment given to the most vulnerable groups already this year. However, there have been no details released as to when the payments will be made in 2023, reports the Mirror. Announcing the new payment, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said: “For the most vulnerable we will introduce additional cost of living payments next year, of £900 to households on means-tested benefits; £300 to pensioner households; and £150 for individuals on disability benefit.“
