In a rising trend, alpha males are now rocking corsets, an item of clothing that was never associated with men. It was only recently model Leonardo Hanna Azrak made jaws drop at a red carpet event when he showed up in a corset under his black blazer and pants. Fashion aficionados were quick to call it ground breaking. And it was indeed a rule bending move for the model to opt for a corset for an award show. He showed the spectators that men can look good in corsets too.
Back home, there are several Indian designer labels who are making corsets for men. Brands like Alter X, Diermess and That Antique Story by Yash Patil are breaking the gender norms and creating stunning corsets for men.
Model-actor Sahil Salathia has also been spotted rocking corsets in his photoshoots. Salathia makes it more risque with his oomph.
During the 18th and 19th century, men used to wear corset discreetly as an undergarment, as it used to make their shoulders look broader and waist thinner.
Today with more men flaunting their chiselled hot bod, it is only obvious that corsets have found their place in the men's closet and made a smooth shift from being an innerwear to an outerwear.
