ANTRIM footballers received a major boost last night after Ulster GAA chiefs reversed a decision to move their Championship opener against Cavan out of Corrigan Park.
Cavan’s request to have the game moved away from the Belfast venue due to its limited capacity of 3,700 was rubber stamped by an Ulster Council vote last week.
But the decision was reversed at a meeting last night after a major outcry over the past week.

In a statement, Ulster GAA said: “Following a site visit this week by relevant stakeholders, including statutory authorities, a number of measures which will enhance the health and safety arrangements at Corrigan Park were agreed.”
Antrim haven’t had a home Ulster Championship game since 2013 due to the saga around the redevelopment of Casement Park.
The Ulster quarter-final tie, which takes place on Saturday, April 23, is a real banana skin for 2020 champions Cavan, who are currently in Division Four, while Antrim play in Division Three.
Over €1 million was invested in Corrigan Park last year to upgrade facilities at the venue.
The Ulster Senior Football Championship gets underway on Saturday, April 16 when Fermanagh host defending champions Tyrone at Brewster Park (6.30pm) with the Ulster SFC final scheduled for Sunday, May 29.
Meanwhile, Aidan O’Shea has been named at centre half back in the Mayo team to face Tyrone on Saturday night in Omagh.
