Corrie star reacts to shock exit scenes as fans say they're 'gutted' he's leaving ITV soap

Coronation Street star Joe Frost has given his verdict on his shock exit scenes as Leo Thompkins exited the ITV soap.

Actor Joe has played Leo for several months and just as it seemed him and Jenny ( Sally Ann Matthews ) were about to get their happy ending and head off to emigrate to Canada, he was brutally murdered by evil Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

He took to Twitter to comment on his surprise exit from the soap as fans rushed to congratulate him on his stint on the ITV show. Many fans admitted they were 'gutted' to see him go as they bid farewell to the character.

As he shared a clip of Stephen pushing Leo off the balcony to his death, Joe simply commented "ouch".

Many viewers and fans alike rushed to social media to congratulate Joe on his exit scenes, and admitted they were surprised and sad to see him go. One wrote: "Never expected that! Will miss you on Corrie - Jenny never has any luck."

"Good luck for the future, you played Leo well. Shame you and Jenny didn't have a happy ending. Hope Stephen gets caught," a second added, as a third wrote: "Ouch indeed. I liked Leo and Jenny. All the best for the future Joe."

Another fan penned: "Sad to see you leave. Oh no didn't see this coming tonight. Was hoping you may be just hurt but now it's the end of Leo. Poor Jenny," whilst on viewer added: "Really sorry to see you go from Corrie."

"Nooo gutted @Joe_Frost1!! What an awful way for poor Leo to go although its been a fab year for you in the best soap and wow what a way to be killed off!" one shared, "Just rather gutted and poor Jenny too argh they really did love each other and she has no idea aww RIP Leo :( :( Have loved watching you in Corrie and never expected this but has been a fab year x"

Others were hoping Leo wasn't actually dead - and had managed to escape still alive from the bin he was hit into you.

"I was really hoping he wasn’t in the bin when Steven opened it up!," one wrote, as another suggested: "I was hoping you wouldn’t be in the bin later in the episode but then I realised you were."

Actor Todd previously teased Stephen could claim more victims, and when asked if Stephen would kill again, he told The Mirror: "I don't know, I'm not sure. I think he's capable of just killing more people and going on and doing that, but watch this space."
