Corrie star Ellie Leach 'splits from boyfriend' after five years together

Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach has reportedly to have split from her boyfriend after five years of dating.

The Faye Windass actress, who's exit scenes aired on Wednesday, was with her dancer boyfriend Reagan Pettman for five years.

It has been claimed that following Ellie's exit from the soap, which she had appeared on for 13 years, the actress had "taken time to reflect which direction her life is going in".

Ellie and her dancer beau are since said to have "decided to call things a day" with the soap star "making the most" of her newly-found single life.

Actress Ellie confirmed she was set to leave the cobbles in emotional scenes before her exit aired this week.

A source told The Sun: "Ellie has the world at her feet after stepping away from Corrie and she has taken time to reflect on which direction her life is going in.

"Ellie and Reagan decided to call things a day and she is making the most of her single status."

Speaking to The Mirror and other press about her final episode, Ellie explained: "It was very, very emotional as obviously Faye is leaving the Street after 12 years, but it's me leaving the Street after 12 years as well.

"The saddest part is where she's in the taxi and we just see Craig on his own walking down the street and she's like stop the car, she gets out and says, 'I'll always love you, I always have and I always will'.

"I think it was just so emotional and you do see there's two people here who do love each other, but there are so many other factors, love isn't always enough and I think you can see that in that last scene."

Ellie played Faye Windass on the ITV soap since she was just nine-years-old, tackling hard-hitting storylines like her character being diagnosed with premature menopause, being the victim and perpetrator of bullying and falling pregnant at the age of 13.

After 13 years in Weatherfield, Ellie admitted she was still blown away by her impending exit.

She said: "It's a little bit crazy actually - really crazy.

"It is scary but I think it's just a crazy situation."

Speaking at the Pride of Manchester Awards at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Ellie then went on to reveal she knows just how her on-screen character will leave the street - gushing her final storyline is a "perfect" ending.

But does Faye's farewell leave a return to Weatherfield in the future possible?

"I don't know," Ellie added with a laugh on Thursday. "People will have to watch and see..."
