Corrie spoilers: Tim and Sally turn to tantric sex to spice things up in the bedroom

Coronation Street's Tim and Sally Metcalfe have found a new way to spice things up in the bedroom.

Tim (Joe Duttine) has been struggling with impotence following his major heart bypass surgery and had gone to extreme lengths to try and 'fix' it - by taking a form of Viagra he bought online, which ended with him back in hospital.

He finally sought help from his doctor and Sally ( Sally Dynevor ) has been supporting him throughout and on this week's show, things seem to look on the up as the pair frolic in a hot tub he's laid on for Sally's birthday.

Next week on the ITV soap, Tim plans a lovely day for him and his wife to mark her birthday.

As they sit down for the special birthday breakfast he has planned for her, he suggests they spend the rest of the day enjoying each other's company in the hot tub. As they frolic in the hot tub, Tim tells her some good news.

He confesses he can feel a stirring down below and Sally is overjoyed, describing it as the best birthday surprise she could ever wish for. But does this mean things are plain sailing for the pair ahead?

Later on in the week, inspired by Tim's recent rousing, Sally suggests that Tim should think about tantric sex, after she heard about it during an interview with Sting. He seems keen and later prepares a romantic meal for them.

During their dinner, he tells Sally he's feeling more positive and says it won’t be long before things are back to normal for them in the bedroom department - but does this mean things are on the up for the pair?

Actress Sally previously urged people to talk about sex more, and she hopes the couple's storyline will encourage people to do so.

"We don’t talk about sex a lot in this country. I was surprised at the script, I kept thinking, ‘Can we say this at this time of evening?’ 'Are we allowed to talk about this?'" she said

"I’m very happy doing it, but it’s not something we’ve done before. It seems quite controversial. I’m hoping people do reach out to me about the storyline. With my friends we talk about the menopause, but never about those other things."
