Corrie spoilers reveal what's wrong with Audrey after mystery hospital dash

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed what leads to Audrey Roberts' hospital dash, amid a secret health scare.

The soap legend will be shown in a hospital bed during Friday's episode of the ITV soap, but she will keep this from her family.

Few details are given in the episode about her dash to hospital and what is wrong with her, but now new spoilers have revealed all.

It appears to be confirmed that Audrey has overdosed on sleeping pills, while it's not known why.

What is known is that Audrey is spoken to by a lady named Becky, the hospital psychiatry liaison officer.

Becky gently quizzes her about why she took so many sleeping pills, but how will she react and what will she say?

As she heads out of hospital, Audrey is delighted to learn her son Stephen is back.

She keeps the hospital dash to herself though, and doesn't tell any of her family - only for her granddaughter Sarah to learn the truth from Ed.

Audrey later has a chat with grandson Nick, after the family bought her old hair salon back for her as a birthday gift.

She tells him she really doesn’t want to reopen the salon, but is apologetic as she knows they meant well.

But will Sarah spill the beans to Nick and the others about Audrey being in hospital, and will Audrey tell her loved ones the truth?

It comes weeks after her loved ones grew concerned about her alcohol consumption, and just last month she was injured when a motorbike fell on top of her.

After a stay in hospital, she reconciled with her family and they have been worried about her ever since.

Audrey discussed her will in the scenes that followed, after her grandchildren were gutted when she said she would leave all of her money to the Weatherfield Association of Retail Traders, in memory of her late husband.

Eventually she changed her mind and decided to set up trust funds for them all, and told them she loved them.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
